The Incredible Story of John Benedict Lomas
18/Mar/2027 @ 19:30 - 21:00
Presented by Chris Bagnall.
This is a remarkable story of a 19th Century rogue from Bishop Monkton who started life at Ampleforth College, and ended up being transported to Australia twice. His life and adventures included bankruptcy, desertion from the army, murder confessions and time spent in lunatic asylums and roaming the bush in Australia.
Former History Group Chairman, Chris Bagnall, will reveal this fascinating life and times of John Lomas, which all began right here in Bishop Monkton.
