It will also cover the work in examining the documentation that has survived, both those manuscripts that were produced in the period relatively close in time to the battle, and those that are more distant in time. Finally, there will be a consideration of the terrain and how it, along with the archaeology and the document research, provides a view of how the events on 29th March 1461 landed the crown of England for Edward of York. But that led us to look more widely at the medieval village itself and then the remarkable history of the church and its relationship to the moated site next door.
