Rather than<br \/>\nconcentrating on a site of regional or national significance within the historic county of Yorkshire this volume presents the contributions of speakers at a Showcase conference held in Sheffield in October 2025 entitled \u2018The Future Researching The Past\u2019. From the outset the aim of the conference was clear &#8211; to provide an opportunity for students and early career archaeologists to present their research interests to a wider audience. The eligibility criteria for the speakers were thematically and geographically focussed:<\/h4>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: left;\">\n1. Students studying archaeology in a Yorkshire university, working on Yorkshire themed material or<br \/>\non Yorkshire geographical area related subject matter;<br \/>\n2. Students studying archaeology outside the Yorkshire region but working on Yorkshire themed<br \/>\nmaterial or on Yorkshire geographical area subject matter; or<br \/>\n3.
