SUMMARY:Rivers4Life
DESCRIPTION:Rivers4Life summer exhibition showcases the work of the Yorkshire Dales Rivers Trust\, and including art produced in the Rivers4Life workshops. \nThanks to National Lottery players the Rivers4Life 3-year project will allow us to deliver an exciting programme combining the arts and science\, to reach a wider audience. We will be working with local schools and community groups along the rivers Wharfe\, Swale\, Ure\, Nidd and Ouse\, and their tributaries offering workshops to engage people through visual art\, soundscapes\, theatre\, stop-frame animation and music; we’ll also be running guided walks\, art workshops and family activity sessions during school holidays. \nThrough the project we will inspire children and communities about everything to do with rivers and wildlife. \nWe will also be continuing our schools workshops and running training sessions for teachers\, leading guided river walks\, and presenting an exciting bespoke community theatre performance about the River Ure at the Dales Countryside Museum on 27th and 28th June and during the Ripon Theatre Festival on 4th July.

SUMMARY:Festival of Archaeology 2026
DESCRIPTION:We are excited to announce that the theme for the 2026 CBA Festival of Archaeology is “Archaeology and Nature”. The Festival will take place across the UK from Saturday 18th July to Sunday 2nd August. \nArchaeology and nature are interconnected revealing how humans have lived with\, shaped\, and been shaped by the environment around them. By exploring the past using the climate\, geology\, animals\, plants\, landscapes and the effect of nature on archaeological sites and buildings today\, we can understand how places and communities evolve and develop. \nThe Festival of Archaeology is the perfect time to bring these connections to life. Hosting an event — whether it’s a guided walk\, a talk\, community fieldwork project\, or a creative workshop — invites people to see that archaeology isn’t just about the past. It’s about our ongoing story with the world around us. \nBy celebrating archaeology and nature\, we can inspire curiosity and develop a deeper sense of belonging to the landscapes we share. We can’t wait to see how you interpret the theme. \n  \nSubmissions for events opens on 21st February 2026  \n  \n\n\n\n\nEvent Organisers Information and How to Submit your Event\nEvent listings and resource submissions for the 2026 Festival of Archaeology will be open on 21st February 2026.  If you would like to find out more about future Festival activities or are interested in organising an event in 2026 please sign up for our newsletters via the link below and check out the event organisers area where you’ll find lots of useful information on developing and delivering your activities. \nWe can’t wait to see what you have planned! \nPlease note that you must create a log in\, if you have not already done so\,  to access the Organisers Area and all the amazing resources.
