DESCRIPTION:In November we will be joined by Dorothy Schofield\, member of South Leeds Archaeology and archivist at Whitkirk Parish Church\, close to Temple Newsam.\n\nIn September 1922\, Temple Newsam House and Estate came into the possession of the City of Leeds. The talk looks into the background of the event\, the people involved and the ambitions for the estate. With references to a fascinating range of information from archives\, pictures\, and newspaper reports of the time\, the personalities and events are explored.\n\nEntry to the talk is free for SLA members\, and £2 for guests. Refreshments are provided\, and all welcome!
